The photo at
left shows my grandmother, Mary Agnes Egan Connor flanked by her sons,
Jim (l) and Tom (r) and her first two grandsons, Danny Drew (l) (the writer)
and Billy Drew.
The photo was taken on the front steps of the family's apartment (#17) in Hampton Court, 1512 N. Meridian, in 1944, just a year or so before Tom was killed in action. CLICK HERE to see the separate chapter (website) dedicated to Tom Connor's service as a Hellcat pilot aboard the aircraft carrier, Yorktown, and his death in combat over Okinawa on March 26, 1945.
